In the last part we laid out the fact that the promises to the fathers mentioned in Luke of a coming seed were not just physical in nature. There seems to be a deeper spiritual undertone to it all. We have seen how the fulfilment of the “seed of the woman” promised in Genesis 3:15 was Christ and in this part we will see if the seed promised to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and eventually David is also fulfilled in Christ. In the first part of this series I laid out a road map of the things we will be studying together. We looked at the first promise made about Christ in Gen 3:15. Now in part two of this series we will examine the promises made to Abraham in Gen 12:1-3, 7, 13:14-16, 15:1-6.
